its not about the LGBT issue that i wanted to highlight but the bold words above. "they chose to" . they chose to be great. in raising khalifah on this earth one does not simply 'berserah'. we choose things we want to do.

2. i was just appalled on how people nowadays lack on courtesy and respect to their elders. the first and foremost person that you have to respect is your parents. if you don't have this, you are screwed! you are nothing but a piece of shit. pardon the language but i'm just so dismayed! you owe your life to (God 1st n foremost) and to them. Islam stresses on honouring your parents greatly and even in our prayers we obliged to say prayers to them. "Rabbighfirli waliwa lidaiya- O God forgive me and my parents"

3., Allah berfirman, "Dan Kami wajibkan manusia berbuat baik kepada kedua ibu bapanya, ibunya telah mengandungnya dengan menanggung susah payah dan telah melahirkannya dengan menanggung susah payah." (al-Ahqaf: 15)

4. Nabi saw. bersabda, " Redha Allah bergantung pada redha ibu bapa kamu dan murka Allah bergantung pada murka ibu bapa kamu." (HR al-Hakim)

5. Allah berfirman, "Allah melarang kamu daripada menyembah selain kepadaNya dan menyuruh supaya kamu berbuat baik kepada kedua ibu bapa. Jika salah seorang di antara keduanya atau kedua-duanya sampai berumur lanjut dalam pemeliharaanmu maka janganlah kamu mengatakan kepada keduanya "ahh" dan janganlah kamu membentak mereka tetapi ucapkanlah kepada mereka dengan perkataan yang mulia. (Al- Isra': Ayat 23)

6. Nabi saw. bersabda, "Sesungguhnya Allah mengharamkan ke atas kalian berbuat derhaka kepada ibu kamu". (HR Bukhari no: 5975 Kitab al-Adab)

7. Dari Abu Bakrah ra., Nabi saw. bertanya, "Mahukah aku beritahu kalian dosa terbesar dari dosa-dosa besar ?" (1) Mempersekutukan Allah. (2) Derhaka kepada ibu atau bapa. (3) Membuat kesaksian palsu. (HR Bukhari)

8. Nabi saw. bersabda, "Semua dosa akan ditangguhkan pembalasan sampai nanti hari kiamat, kecuali derhaka kepada ibu atau bapa, maka sesungguhnya Allah akan segerakan pembalasan kepada pelakunya dalam hidupnya (di dunia) sebelum dia meninggal dunia." (HR Hakim)

9. Nabi saw. bersabda, "Ada tiga orang yang tidak akan masuk syurga: 1) orang yang derhaka kepada ibu bapanya. 2) lelaki yang dayus. 3) perempuan yang menyerupai laki-laki." (HR Nasa'i, Bazzar dan Hakim)

Maksudnya : Ya Allah! Ampunilah bagiku segala dosaku dan juga dosa dua ibu bapaku dan kasihanilah mereka keduanya sebagaimana mereka memelihara dan mendidikku di masa kecil.

orang lain recap, aku nak recap jugak. tapinya tetiba datang malas. hahaha..malas nak cari gambar. malas nak view balik blog. (since the blog nih dah macam online public diary)

I wouldn’t say i had a great year of 2011. but it certainly taught me well of life and relationship. All in all, it was still a good year. Me and hubby managed to upgrade our love nest (miahahaha) from a bujang house (resided by my hubby) to a family (currently for two) home. Our first major purchase was the fridge. Assuming that later on I’ll be cooking my way off in the kitchen, the need of having an appropriate size of a refrigerator is dire. Our second big purchase was the lcd backlit led. (Don’t ask) then came the unifi lah, carpet lah, kufi canvas lah…tp beli sikit2 so takde la terasa sangat. And my hadiah to my hubby’s SOHO were the white desk and matching white chair. Came the ikea almari and whatnots. Buku byk bersepah2, so wajib ada almari! Ini pun tetibe rasa nak beli satu lagi..ewah!

Pendek kata, mmg kami start sikit2..it took us one year to where we are now. Alhamdulillah. Comfy lah sehingga nak beranak 2 nnt.. eceh. Dan aku mmg tak compare dgn diri orang lain. Sedikit sebanyak aku belajar utk bermuhasabah (dgn bantuan husband haha), berkador. (means bajet2 ahh in loghat pahang) dan tahu finance sendiri. Bukan semua org yg kahwin cuci kaki je masuk rumah ok. Dan bukan semua have the luxury of buying things in a bulk. Or buy things in advance (sometimes we cant predict what the future holds kan?) Tak.. so bila kita berkador, its ok to buy bit by bit or just living comfortably with what u have as long as it serve the purpose of your life lah. Mak bapak kita (means mak bapak aku lah tuh) dulu pon lagilah, lepas kahwin duk rumah kayu kut. Takde hal. Happy je..3,4 years baru pindah umah teres kot. So takpe, save up sikit2 lah to buy a better house later on kan?

On relationship lagi lah panjang nak cerita. Tapi taknak cerita. Nyekik (annoying in terengganu) tak? Hahaha... tapi aku memang belajar banyak selepas kahwin ni. Dan jeng jeng..tak semuanya indah…tapi..i got to learn on how to compromise. How to meet someone at the middle. How to learn to be thankful. How to appreciate people around me. How to love. How to accept strangers to my heart. I learn it all. And insyaallah I’ll try to make the best of it. Dan sesungguhnya perkahwinan/pernikahan itu mmg akan melangkapkan seseorang itu to be a better person, a better Muslim. I wouldn’t say I am, jauh lagi tapi aku berusaha ke arah itu (insyaallah) since aku ada seorang husband yg sgt2 jujur dan berterus terang. N he’s the one who keeping me grounded.

And it has been a year plus since our wedding day dan Allah itu Maha Adil lagi Maha Mengetahui dan aku redha dan faham why lah still tak dapat zuriat lagi. I think I know the surface reasons. Medically not yet lah. Tapi takpe, mungkin rezeki aku tahun ni kot, maybe? Insyaallah? Doakan aku.

So for 2012, I hope I’ll be a better Muslim. All in all dah tu. Better muslim means better person, better wife, better daughter or insyaallah better mother. My second hope is to be a mother. Amin yarabbal alamin! Thirdly, aku akan cuba berusaha untuk belajar bersungguh2 (dan menerima hakikat ilmu, thanks K) kali ni for my studies. Insyaallah 21^st (ikut schedule) akan start class. Harapannya agar aku tegar dan tak mudah mengalah (dan tak byk main mcm last degree aku hahaha). My last goal for the year is to step up the game in my architectural career. Haha! (aku bab profession nih agak lemau sikit..haha!)

So I wish all my readers (again, I doubt there’s a soul reading this tapi aku optimis haha) a happy new year and have a great life ahead. Be positive and let’s be a better person! Insyaallah. Amin!

8. Those who are faithfully true to their Amanat (all the duties which Allah has ordained, honesty, moral responsibility and trusts etc.) and to their covenants;

9. And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawat (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours);-

10. These are indeed the inheritors,

11. Who will inherit Paradise: they will dwell therein (for ever).

hari ni aku sangat keji ye. meminta EL utk bershopping dgn mak ye...haha...eh kate AL aku tahun nih ada lagi 8 hari...gasak la ye dak...koje pon tak byk ujung2 tahun ni...plus bukan selalu aku teman mak gi shopping..diorg nih datang KL asek nak cpt je...haha

teman mak n aboh shopping..dpt 1 baje pree..hahaha...tenkiu dad! (baju aku 1 je lagi mahal dr 2 helai bj aboh..tp since org nak belanje..ishh jgn ditolak!)

pastuh gi kedai lepak2 dgn sang suami...teman gi beli stok rokok naik moto. feeling2 roda2 kotaraya sangat! pastuh smpai kedai ramai orang. lauk dah habis...selamba pi dapor buat nasi goreng...gitu..mcm chef import je..skang duk umah layan internet...bayor segala mak nenek bills...satgi rasa cam nak tido je..muahahaha...dahle br pas mandi...air sojukk...kipas kuat...zzzzzzz la jawapnye!

adakah kita mempergunakan sebaik2 masa yg ada dalam tahun ini, the year 2011..before life ends in 2012? hahaha ok kidding stupid mayan calendar!

so, 2011 akan melabuhkan tirainya. i'm nearing to 28. goshh..dulu masa berumur 24..aku masih boleh bertenang..ini sudah mau masuk 28...bawah mata sudah ada lines okkkk..sudah ada...jadi, apekah resolusi 5 tahun (after grad) sudah tercapai? the 5-year-resolution are:

1. getting married (miahahahha macam harom!)

2. maju dlm senibina dan construction (not really..but getting there..slow...tskk tskk)

3. master of puppet...(insyaallah 21st january nnt kelas start)

4. doing some tutoring (way of giving back to the society...which takdok lagi haha!)

5. doing something out of ordinary (diving. done in 2008. pastu tobat trauma)

so..kire bulih la dok? ke guane?

again...what did i do in 2011? rasa macam honeymoon year. not in marriage sense lah...in myself mmg aku honeymoon. aku didnt watch what i eat..lack of exercising...hedonism all the way...buku pun kurang baca. (tp at least sudah khatam quran 1 kali lah this year) haha! hantu betul perangai macam nih!

in term of pengisian kerohanian..what did i do? nothing jugak... just typical 5x a day solats. ganti puasa pon belom habis. harom betul. ok zakat dah bayar. sedekah ada buat. baca quran of course. solat sunats ada. boleh la...tapi cam kurang jugak why? aku rasa kene enroll masuk kelas tajwid lah...kene start2 gi jemaah (with hubby of course) kat masjid 2x a week ke..ke guane? takkan umor dah dekat 30 tak berubah2 lagi kot?

i'm so not a new-year-resolution kinda person. tapi its good to have goals once in while kan? so tambah lagi the 5 year resolution to 10 year resolution:

1. gi haji

2. do volunteer works

3. harap2 tuhan bg cahayamata2 (eh nak byk ke...kehkeh...)

4. part III (mcm harom...haha!)

5. beli umah landed or have a property dlm kl city centre.

6. buat biznes (erk cam tak yakin nih)

few days ago..i have this urged to watch korean/japs movies/ dramas...and came weekends, i lost all the interest. just like that. i think the reason why i somehow not as enthusiast as i were before is that, aku dah kahwin and all the lovey dovey things seems not really working for me dah. ewah!

and funny thing is, i kept on research-ing on xbox 360 kinect and wii fit plus. (laki bini siap tido kul 2am just becoz nak tgk vids on these console kat youtube) what's modded and unmodded means...standard price in klang valley...whats the best game...pros n cons...and mannn..i'm so attracted to xbox 360 kinect!! my oh my..... if i were to buy xbox console, it will cost me approx under rm1600..plus minus accessories la...but the thing is...should i or should i not??? that's the real question.

ikut ke nafsu of course la i'll fork out money from asb ka tabunghaji ka kan..but..xbox kinect got games that will make u move all of your body. hahaha! n its so cool to have one.... i rarely make a big purchase since i started working except for my htc touch viva priced under rm1300 kot 3 years ago..n then aku duk sibuk buy almari, meja, karpet...kitchen utensils...lamps n all.n to think of it aku byk spend kat gifts/presents to people. well its a good thing to give ppl presents tapinya...tapinya...heppp sila ikhlas.

ok..wht other big purchases that i made since i worked eh...ohh hantaran2 kahwin n baju2 kahwin..haha..ok nextt...eh takdela....i think i deserve to give myself a gift la...a xbox gift...mwahahha... tp aku dlm perancangan nak pi haji..camno...huarghh...keduniaannya..!! ok lah...for 2012 ni..aku kene limit beli baju...say under rm100 in 2months (kahkahkah! satgi rabun mata tgk poplook!) pastuh unsubscribe movies channel..dah save rm50 kat situ.

before this gila nak beli nintendo wii since wii ada wii fit plus yg ada balancing board tuh kan..tapinya xbox kinect nowadays takyah pakai controller takyah pakai boards, u actually can work it your body freely. (body weight exercise jaa!) mcm sooo the star warss (sbb kinect ada voice command)!! oh i'm soooo kinda geek. xbox graphics is way better than wii(wii nye graphic siap kene nganjing ehh) precision wise menang kat ps3 move (out of question since akutak minat langsung ps3..haha) sbb ps3 move ada wand..while xbox mmg dia scan body je so ada skit relay. but wii fit plus has its own large fans. tp rata2 kata bila dah gune kinect..experience dia lagi power!

DOA AWAL DAN AKHIR TAHUN - ADAKAH IA BENAR ATAU BATHIL?

Insya Allah pada kali ini, kita akan membuat kesimpulan/ringkasan mengenai isu amalan awal muharam. Untuk memudahkan kita, Kami akan mengkhususkan kesimpulan kita ini berkisar mengenai amalan doa awal dan akhir tahun.

Berikut adalah doa yang dimaksudkan:

Awal tahun

"Segala puji tertentu bagi Allah, Allah SWT yang memelihara dan mentadbir sekalian alam. Selawat dan salam ke atas junjungan kami Nabi Muhammad dan keluarga baginda serta sahabatnya. Ya Allah, sesungguhnya pada tahun ini aku melakukan larangan-Mu tetapi aku belum bertaubat sedangkan Engkau tidak reda dan melupai perkara itu. Engkau menangguhkan azab-Mu yang ditetapkan kepadaku. Engkau memerintahkan supaya aku bertaubat. Sesungguhnya pada hari ini aku memohon keampunan daripada Engkau, ampunilah aku. Dan apa yang aku lakukan pada tahun ini yang Engkau redai dan Engkau janjikan pahala, maka aku memohonnya daripada Engkau, ya Allah yan Karim yan Zal Jalali Wal Ikram. Terimalah permohonanku ini dan janganlah Engkau hampakan harapanku terhadap-Mu ya Karim. Selawat dan salam ke atas junjungan kami Nabi Muhammad dan keluarga baginda juga sahabatnya. Segala puji tertentu bagi Allah, Allah SWT yang memelihara dan mentadbir sekalian alam".

Akhir tahun

"Segala puji tertentu bagi Allah, Allah SWT yang memelihara dan mentadbir sekalian alam. Selawat dan salam ke atas junjungan kami Nabi Muhammad dan keluarga baginda dan sahabatnya. Ya Allah, Engkaulah yang kekal abadi untuk selama-lamanya. Demi kelebihan-Mu yang maha Agung dan kemurahan-Mu yang melimpah, sesungguhnya pada tahun baru ini aku memohon daripada Engkau perlindungan daripada syaitan yang direjam, pengikutnya, tenteranya dan penolongnya dan aku emohon perlindungan daripada nafsu amarah yang sentiasa mendorong ke arah kejahatan dan melalaikan aku dengan perkara yang tidak berfaedah daripada mendekatkan diri kepada Engkau. Selawat dan salam ke atas junjungan kami Nabi Muhammad dan ke atas keluarga baginda dan sahabatnya. Segala puji tertentu bagi Allah, Allah SWT yang memelihara dan mentadbir sekalian alam".

Manakala berikut ini adalah fadhilat serta kaedah pembacaan yang sering kelihatan:

Ibnu Abbas berkata: "Siapa yang membaca doa ini pada 1 Muharam, Allah mewakilkan dua malikat memeliharanya pada tahun itu".

Selepas doa(awal tahun) dibaca, berkatalah syaitan, "Kesusahan bagiku dan sia-sialah pekerjaanku mengoda anak Adam pada setahun ini dan Allah binasakan aku satu saat jua. Dengan sebab membaca doa itu, Allah mengampunkannya setahun".

Selepas dibaca doa akhir tahun, syaitan berkata, "Telah amanahlah anak Adam ini daripada godaanku pada tahun ini kerana Allah mewakilkan dua Malaikat memeliharanya daripada fitnah syaitan".

Bacalah doa awal tahun berikut sebanyak tiga kali pada akhir waktu Asar atau sebelum masuk waktu Maghrib pada hari terakhir bulan Zulhijah.

Bacalah doa akhir tahun sebanyak tiga kali selepas waktu Maghrib pada malam 1 Muharam.

Kami telah cuba untuk mencari serta menjejak kesemua fadhilat serta kaedah pembacaan di atas, namun sayangnya hasil pencarian kami tidak membuahkan sebarang hasil. Bukan hanya kitab-kitab hadis sittah, malahan kitab hadis dhaif dan palsu juga telah kami cuba mencarinya namun hasilnya serupa, hampa.

Bukan di situ sahaja usaha kami, bahkan fatwa-fatwa dan sumber dari ulama-ulama luar negara selain nusantara telah kami selongkar, tapi juga tidak membuahkan hasil. Maka kami telah membuat kata putus bahawa semua fadhilat serta kaedah pembacaan yang dinyatakan di atas adalah batil dan tidak sabit pada nas al-Quran dan hadis sahih.

Rasulullah saw telah bersabda dalam hadis sahih riwayat Imam Bukhari yang beerti:

Barangsiapa yang beramal dengan sesuatu amalan yang tidak ada hubungan dengan urusan kita, maka ia tertolak.

Maka di sini telah jelas bahawa barangsiapa yang mengamalkan amalan awal Muharam(Doa Awal dan Akhir Tahun), beriqtikadkan bahawa ia mempunyai kelebihan sepertimana yang digambarkan, apatah lagi mengatakan amalan ini adalah sunnah Rasulullah saw, maka amalannya tertolak. Dan Allah Rasulullah saw juga telah memberi amaran kepada mereka yang berdusta terhadap baginda saw dalam hadis sahih yang bermaksud:

Barangsiapa yang melakukan pendustaan ke atasku dengan sengaja, maka sediakanlah tempat duduknya di dalam neraka. Hadis Mutawtir

Ibnu Masud pernah berkata yang bermaksud:

Hendaklah anda sekalian mengikuti apa saja yang dibawa oleh Rasulullah saw dan jangan anda mengada-adakan sesuatu yang baru. Sesungguhnya sudah cukup bagi anda sekalian(sunnah yang dibawa oleh Rasulullah saw).

Ibnu Abbas juga pernah berkata:

Hendaklah anda sentiasa bertaqwa kepada Allah dan beristiqamah. Ikutilah(apa saja yang disunnahkan oleh Rasullah saw) dan janganlah anda mengada-adakan sesuatu yang baru.

Kesimpulan

Doa pada asal memang terdapat dalam Islam. Dalilnya cukup banyak. Baik di dalam Al-Quran maupun hadis-hadis sahih. Namun begitu, terdapat juga sesetengah pihak yang menaylahgunakan konsep berdoa itu yang sebenar. Mereka menciptakan waktu-waktu khas yang kononnya mustajab yang tidak sabit dari al-Quran dan hadis, mereka menciptakan fadhilat-fadhilat yang kononnya memberi ganjaran apabila dilakukannya dan bermacam-macam lagi. Kesan dari itu wujudlah sepertimana yang sedang kita bincangkan ini iaitu doa awal dan akhir tahun.

Kami berpendapat adalah tidak salah untuk dibacakan doa-doa tersebut. Kerana berdoa memanglah digalakkan. Tetapi doa tersebut tidaklah seharusnya dijadikan satu amalan yang dilakukan hanya kerana datangnya tahun baru. Apatah lagi dikaitkan doa tersebut kononnya sabit dari Rasulullah saw. Juga mengatakan dengan membacanya maka akan diperolehlah fadhilat-fadhilat tertentu. Kerana kesemua riwayat yang berkaitan doa awal dan akhir tahun ini adalah batil. Ingatlah pada sebuah hadis yang masyhur yang bermaksud:

Sesungguhnya benar-benar hadith(percakapan) itu ialah kitab Allah. Sebaik-baik petunjuk ialah petunjuk Muhammad saw. Manakala sejahat-jahat urusan itu ialah yang diada-adakan, kerana setiap yang diada-adakan itu adalah bidah manakala setiap bidah adalah sesat. Hadis riwayat Muslim

Dalam hadis riwayat An-Nasai pula terdapat tambahan:

.dan setiap kesesatan itu di dalam neraka.

Doa tersebut boleh saja dibaca pada lain-lain waktu. Bukan dikhaskan hanya ada awal dan akhir tahun sahaja.

Beginilah pendapat dan pegangan kami. Sekiranya terdapat sesiapa yang mungkin dapat mengutarakan dalil dari al-Quran dan hadis yang sahih berkaitan amalan ini haraplah berbuat demikian. Kerana sesungguhnya kami hanyalah hamba Allah yang lemah.

Sebuah Pengakuan

Mungkin sebagian dari kita sudah sangat familiar dengan nasyid ini. Tapi, tahukah kita darimana nasyid ini berasal? Siapa pengarangnya?

Tersebutlah kisah seorang Sahabat yg baru kembali dari medan perang. Saat berada di pintu rumahnya, secara tidak sengaja tiba-tiba nampak olehnya betis seorang perempuan. Perempuan itu adalah istri sahabatnya yg ketika itu sedang bertamu di rumahnya. Perasaan itu membuat ia begitu takut dan malu dengan Allah, sehingga ia menghukum dirinya sendiri dan tidak mau pulang ke rumahnya selagi dirinya belum bisa menjadi manusia yg baik, sebaik yg Allah kehendaki.

Sahabat yg mulia ini, adalah seorang tokoh yg di Indonesia terkenal dengan cerita-ceritanya yg lucu. Namun sebenarnya ia adalah seorang pujangga, penyair besar di zaman Abbasiyah. Dialah Abu Nawas.

Nama aslinya adalah Al Hasan bin Hani al-Hakami, hidup di tahun 757 — 814 H. Oleh Raja Harun ar-Rasyid, raja yg memerintah di masa itu, ia diangkat sebagai penyair kepercayaan raja. Ia sangat dikagumi dan dikenal karena kepiawaiannya mengungkapkan kegemaran dan kesenangannya pada anggur dengan kalimat-kalimat yg indah. Abu Nawas pada mulanya adalah seorang yg hedonis, namun pada tahun-tahun terakhir kehidupannya ia bertaubat. Syair I'tiraf ini merupakan salah satu syair taubatnya yg paling termasyhur di Nusantara.

on my fascination towards working at the sky, here i would like to share my current series that i watched, Pan Am.

Pan Am is a television series centered around the iconic airline Pan American World Airways during the early 1960s. The period drama, from writer Jack Orman (ER) and director Thomas Schlamme (The West Wing), has a storyline that begins in 1963 and focuses on the pilots and stewardesses working for the world-famous airline. Islam's and materialistic philosophies' view of the ego

What follows is a summary of Said Nursi’s explanation of how Islam views the human ego and its education, and how this view differs from those human philosophies based on human arrogance and denial of God:

An absolute and all-encompassing entity has no limits or terms, and therefore cannot be shaped or formed, or determined in such a way that its essential nature can be comprehended. For example, light undetermined by darkness cannot be known or perceived. However, light can be determined if a real or hypothetical boundary line of darkness is drawn. In the same way, the Divine Attributes and Names (e.g., Knowledge, Power, Wisdom, and Compassion) cannot be determined, for they are all-encompassing and have no limits or like. Therefore, as their essence cannot be known or perceived, a hypothetical boundary is needed for them to become known.

In order to make Himself known through His Attributes and Names, God Almighty drew a hypothetical line before His all-encompassing Attributes and Names. This line is the human ego. By reflecting all of His Attributes and Names on it and thereby making it an essential dimension of human existence, the ego became a Divine trust, an arena in which the manifestations of Divine Attributes and Names are reflected in order to mirror the Divine Being. The ego imagines within itself a fictitious lordship, power, and knowledge as reflections of their Divine counterparts, and so posits a boundary line, hypothesizes a limit to the all-encompassing Divine Attributes, and says: “This is mine, and the rest is His.” Ego thus makes a division. By means of the miniature measure it contains, ego slowly comes to understand the true nature of the Divine Attributes and Names.

But if ego forgets the Divine purpose of its creation, abandons the duty of its nature, and views itself as a self-existing being independent of the Creator, it betrays the trust and falls into the class of those warned and threatened by: And he [she] who corrupts it fails (91:10). This development is responsible for all of the polytheism, evil, and deviation that have caused the heavens, Earth, and the mountains to be terrified of assuming the trust, lest they be led to associate partners with God.

Such ideas cause ego to swell until it gradually permeates all parts of a human being, to change from a hypothetical line or “light vapor” into a “viscous liquid.” Our indifference to creation’s miraculous truths (with which we are now “too familiar”) and our preoccupation with this world and natural sciences causes that “liquid” to “harden.” After this, our neglect and denial cause ego to “freeze.” Losing its refined and opaque nature, due to ingrained rebelliousness, arrogance, injustice, and wrong viewpoints, it increases in density until it envelops the person. Like some huge monster, the ego completely swallows its owner so that he or she and his or her faculties become no more than its slave.

Eventually, the ego of the human race strengthens the individual ego through individual and national racism, causing this now-swollen ego to contest the Majestic Maker’s commands, just as Satan did. Finally it considers itself the yardstick by which everyone and everything else should be compared and measured. Thus it divides God’s sovereignty between itself and other causes and associates partners with God in the most grievous manner. To justify its position, it then shares God’s acts with many other things (e.g., causality, idols, natural forces, and matter), just like a thief who seeks to justify his or her theft by claiming to have taken a certain amount for each of his or her friends.

As a result, people can no longer perceive and confess their impotence and weakness, insufficiency and need, deficiency and imperfection, which are basic to human beings, and thus cannot fulfill the purpose of their creation: to worship and serve God as He wills. Immersed in naturalism and ascribing partners to God, they cannot locate the wide open doors of gratitude and thus are the people mentioned in: To associate partners with God is the highest wrongdoing (31:13).

This betrayal of the Divine trust causes ego to sink into absolute ignorance. Regardless of how much science it has acquired, knowledge only compounds its ignorance. Whatever glimmers of knowledge of God it obtains from the universe through its senses or reflective powers are extinguished, for it can no longer find within itself anything with which to confirm, polish, and maintain them. Whatever comes to ego is stained with the colors within it. If pure wisdom were to come, an ego stained by atheism, polytheism, or other forms of denying the All-Mighty could not even absorb a small fraction of it. If the whole universe were full of shining indications of God, one dark point in that ego would cause them to be hidden, just as if they were invisible.

nak bagi hapa masa birthday or anniversary??
haa..itulah persoalannya ketika aku nak menyambut birthday sang suami..which later follows with our anniversary pulak. dan2 pastuh pulak birthday bapak aku! haiyaa! haiyyabinaaaa

the thing is my guys here are categorized under said title. HAS EVERYTHING! ok not lah everything..but since ada budget constraint of course la got nothing to give kan.. (mak henchek nko nih kalau gaji belas2 ribu boleh la buat down payment bg moto baru kat laki sendrik or belikan new golf set to my bapak kann..tapi nan hado!)

sang suami: got a tad bit expensive hobbies. bikes (scrambler+supersports), photography and fishing. the accessories for the hobbies cost a fortune jugak lah. yes...mmg ada barang2 murah utk accessories tu..adakah anda fikir saya tidak memikirkannya? mestilah saya sudah strike that thru sbb mende2 murah itu of kos la sudah dibeli! tsskkk (menangis) apo lagi tinggal...?? akhirnye..google punye google and ask guy frens around aku membuat keputusan utk mengorder satu thermos....thermos apa kau nak tahuuuu? ini dia!

padahal sang suami adalah pengguna tegar nikon. kire macamm "elehhh..tahap2 canon nih aku buat isi air jee.." gitu kekdah kekwatnya! haha..tapi sebenarnya the reason aku beli hat canon is that husband got anak buah yg cerdik2 akalnya...aku risau diorg tertgk aku bubuh air dlm thermos lense nih diorg akan berbuat mende yg sama terhadap lense nikon..at least..this one is a different than the real lense lah.

lepas 13.09 (birthday sang suami) datanglah pula 01.10. itulahhh..dulu nak nombor cantik..kemudian nak suami dlm surat nikah tua 3 tahun....sekarang..rasakan penangan anniversary dekat dgn birthday suami. haha! (sbb aku obliged nak bagi hadiah on these date kan...hoho) ini pon puas la aku consult dgn guy frens aku...apo lagi nak beli?? the thing is, sang suami bermain motor di dalam hutan. siap beli mes tin n bekas nyala api utk makan megi ketika trail ride di dalam hutan yg usually takes about a good 5,6 hours in the woods la kan. aku pon terfikir (since kawan aku dah incept idea nih kat aku) why not give him something that can be useful in the woods? percayalah, sang suami mmg ada juga knife tool ini tetapi cam cap hayam2 kot? or cam dah burok2 kot? so aku pon beli lah ini..

Within the last few months, the number of emails I have received from people asking whether or not they should get out of architecture has been staggering. Equally surprising are the emails I receive that ask for direction on whether or not they should go into the field of architecture. The answer to both questions is easy:

Maybe?

For some people, the first question I ask them – the ender question, is always the same:

“Why do you want to be an architect?”

If the answer is I have always wanted to be an architect, I move on to the next few questions. A person’s motivation for becoming an architect is singularly important. I went to college to become an architect while my friends simply went to college. My resolve and dedication towards becoming an architect was tempered by many all-nighters, 207 credit hours (187 required for my degree), and no fraternity for me – nobody who graduated from the University of Texas School of Architecture the same time as I did was in a fraternity (or sorority) – you just didn’t have the time.

It was hard to get to where I am at right now and the people who were doing it because they thought it would be cool, for the money, or some other reason other than ‘I have always wanted to be an architect” didn’t make it. If there is something else out there calling to you, architecture probably isn’t for you. I haven’t regretted my decision ever.

Ever.

Sure, there have been loads of times when I wished I didn’t work as much as I do, made more money; I even get tired of the ladies who are “architect groupies ” following me around. It’s tough but I have always wanted to be an architect.

This is a portion from an email I recently received which actually got me thinking about this post. The person who sent this loves to design and thinks about it all the time … it’s how she spends her free time, she travels to locations, she studies buildings, she even tracks down the designers in these locations and goes and meets them. In her words:

I really love this stuff, but know that I might have problems working for clients. I can see my temperament not quite matching up with that process. I’m a bit stubborn. And also impatient.
It’s hard, I always wanted to be an artist, and now I can’t figure out how to be a designer.

The traits that she describes won’t keep her from becoming an architect or designer – in fact, I would also suggest that these are important traits that any successful designer should have. Also, if her stubbornness and impatience are so uncontrollable as to be a real problem, she’ll have issues in any profession other than ‘Hermit’. In my response email to her, I included a list of quality architecture programs near her and should she decide to pursue a Master’s degree in architecture, I think she’ll do really well.

As to the emails that are asking if they should get out out of architecture – that one is more difficult to address. Architects aren’t the only professionals that are suffering right now. In my mind, it’s similar to changing jobs because you don’t like someone where you are working – not a real good reason if it’s the only one because you probably won’t like someone at the next job either.

I still like to try and find out why a person who has gone through the process to become an architect is thinking about leaving. Have your motivations for being an architect changed? Is it circumstantial? Maybe it’s simply that you want to make more money or you simply hate the job that you currently have. I can appreciate why someone would like to make more money but are you worth more money doing what you currently do? For example, in my circumstance I am well paid for a 10 person residential firm considering my name isn’t on the front door. If I wanted to be paid more, my first couple of possible moves would involve looking at larger firms or more commercially focused production firms, not becoming a lawyer. For me, it would be about trying to find a balance and still continue practicing architecture, not changing professions.

I’ve always been pretty good at shooting the bull and have been told I would have been awesome at sales. The very idea of selling anything just to be selling anything would literally make me shrivel up and die. To my way of thinking, I would be better served by investing ALL of my time and resources into winning the lottery before selling paper or plastic o-rings. While both would probably ruin me and force me into living in a cardboard refrigerator box in some alley, going into sales would probably add “crazy” and “pavement licker” to my resume.

When trying to select an appropriate image for this post, my mind started wandering a bit and it landed on John Picacio. John and I went to architecture achool together and we both spent time in Europe traveling together in 1990. John and I were never all that close but even 20 years later I can still remember John’s sketches; they were ridiculously good. I still see one sketch in particular in my mind’s eye. John and I were in Siena, Italy, and John was drawing the Piazza del Campo. He was using the white of the paper as much as his sketch pen to bring the buildings to life and it was simply amazing to see. We lost touch after awhile but I always thought he was so good at drawing, why would he be an architect? Apparently John came to the same conclusion and is now an internationally recognized and award winning illustrator.

And I say good for him.

John could always draw better than the people who taught our drawing classes and he figured out that this was something he would rather do than pursue a career in architecture. I’d say it’s worked out pretty well for him. So if you’re interested in becoming an architect because it’s all you’ve ever wanted to do than I would heartily urge you to continue on towards your goal. If you want to become an architect for the groupies, money and fast cars, you might want to reevaluate your options. I’m not suggesting that it can only be one or the other but if you’re already unsure … you’ve got some difficult roads to travel in front of you.

What would you say to someone contemplating a change? Things will get better but will it be worth sticking around? Doctor’s are starting to run into problems but we’ll always need them. Lawyer’s have their issues too, but unlike architects who are working themselves towards irrelevancy, at least Lawyer’s make it so we can’t get rid of them. Architecture defines me and I wouldn’t like to envision myself doing something else – but what about the people who don’t know? What would you tell them?

Did you know that..:

1. aku ber raya waktu pagi dengan suami di rumah. solat raya di jln ampang then br balik seremban 2 sampai pukul 3pm. then terus ke kuantan?

di rumah mertua...ikiikiki

2. aku dapat duit raya dari suami. (ihiks)

3. kiteorg pulun kemas rumah sbb rumah baru habis cat 3 days before raya. (tensen aku org cat tuh wat keje tak senonoh...besepai cat atas lantai...eventho cat air sekalipon...clear kan la...eyyy!!)

4. n still rumah belum habis kemas sepenuhnya. haha!

5. balik raya terengganu on 2nd raya only for 24 hours. tapi tak best sgt sbb takleh tido kat umah tok. penuh kot!

6. 1/3 of LPT terengganu dah dibuka dari bukit besi ke ajil.

7. aku kurang mkn rendang, lemang n ketupat pulut. haiya! sbb ramai org wat nasi minyak...tsk2..pastuh bile masuk ofis mule le rasa terliur2...

8. terasa macam ekspress gile raya. jumaat malam dah berada di KL semula. gahhh...tp hari 2nd sept balik dpt diskaun LPT uolss..!

9. aku tak sempat khatam bulan puaasa..haiya..lagha bebenorr! (usually bulan puasa aku akan khatam quran yg di baca setahun itu..hoho...xdapek la 30juzuk sebulan...uhukss)

10. aku dah siap 3 puasa in syawal.( kehkehkeh..tp hari n weekend off jap..semacam penat puasa nih. pelik tapi benar. sbb tido atas toto kot...tak jendera tido. )

life moves on.

aku bersama cik P ahri nih. so automatik aku akan bangun lambat. kasihan tuan fadil. tidak bersahur hari ni. i checked the plastik sampah at the dapur, nampak cikedis. well..at least he ate cikedis before he went to bed. taktahu lah at what time he fell asleep. but still rasa bersalah. plus tuan fadil tak berapa sihat pulak kan. kasihan. masa aku tersedar dia bangun for subuh prayer at 6.11 am tu, aku kalih badan aku supaya tak tgk dia. kesian betol tgk dia tak makan sahur sbb aku lambat bangun.

itulah awak....saya nak set jam saya 10 minutes early awak tak bagi....awak kata jujurlah pada diri sendiri.. tapi tapi saya dah biasa tipu diri sendiri bab masa nih! dgn itu at least saya punctual..(contradict tak statement nih?)

anyway. its already 12 days of fasting. no sign of going to the gym yet. haha i thought i'll have the time...tapi aiyaa...next week la insyaallah! next week! kalu tak rugi ooo..

sekarang pun masak nak berbuka pun malas. aku beli je la. sbb kalau aku masak lagi la kiteorg laki bini jadi ikhwanul syayatin. ala..sahabat setann..haha..ye la dah aku kalau masak dulu2 plg kurang 4 org makan..kat umah kuantan, 7 org makan. ini masak utk ber2..tak reti bajet aku..fadil ckp masakla utk sorg lebih skit..katanya. haiyaa...takpelah..beli lagi senang. aku dulu masa bujang2 (ewah) membeli jugak..sepp jugak. 1 bungkus bihun sup. kuih 2 bijik jadi dah. air biasanya mmg aku tak beli. sbb bahan minuman time bujang2 dulu nescafe panas. ohh indah!

skrang ni sahur pun aku hidang roti je. nasib baik laki aku jenis tak makan byk sahur. makan nasi pun kurang. setel masalah. timbul masalah lain haha..sbbnya, kalau kene pikir nak masak lauk byk la choice dia kan..ini kalau tak makan nasi, hadap bihun sup, bihun soto, kuewtiao sup, kuewtiao tomyam. pusing2 itu je. takpe la. selagi laki aku tak komplen tuh ok le tu..kihkihkih

hari nih aku for berbuka, aku akan:
1. tanak nasi
2. carik ikan goreng
3. hidang tempoyak petai paku pakis yg aku beli kat bazar smlm.

yummeh. amboi makan nasi. esok balik kuantan, konfem2 makan nasi lagi. lantak!!

besok sahur, aku nak pengaruh laki aku makan mcd kat gombak to highway karak. ahaha!

hat nih mmg aku tak buat seketul sedebuk sbb nnt nak simpan dlm fridge tak muat so aku buat kecik2..pastu stack up kan so jadi tinggi melampaui..haha

pastuh tak reti setting temp kat electr oven tuh hahahha.....ala skit2 kureng masak dlm tuh..tp laki aku makan aje..bagus suamiku! tidak mengomplen bini masak tak sedap (dan juga sedap) hahaha

cream tuh puas la aku beat..sekali dia jadi runny! apa salah aku!! haha rupenye kene pukul time sejuk..dan bekas2 tuh pon dikatan harus sejuk! darn it! senang citer ko beli je la botol whipped cream tuh. huhh

mende yg biasanya takde dlm pantry kite utk buat pesto sauce adalah menggunakan virgin olive oil, basil n shredded parmesan cheese. basil adalah yakni DAUN SELASIH! bapok mahal beli kat jusco...ah sayur2 jusco mahal lah!

bahan lain dalam pesto sauce nih adalah pine nut. tp disebabkan pine nut adalah mahal...sekotak kecik berharga 20+ baiklah aku gantikan dgn cashew nut (sebekas 7++) je..aku rasa it got the same nutty taste (haha suke2 agak2) tapi bile aku blend kan cashew nut tuh rasa dia not bad. not bad at alllll

point being is, pesto sauce sesuai utk makan dgn proteins kot i.e grilled ikan/ayam. huh selama nih makan kat secret recipe ikan ape tah with this green sauce ketidak tahuan ape namanya...aku try wat roux (bajet ala2 wat cheese sauce gak la..rupenye ramalan ku salah belaka) pastu blend daun ape tah..sekali pahit bebenor n rasa tak sama...tensenn...bile member aku bgtau ini adalah pesto sauce sepantas kilat carik recipe n bile buat dan rasa, benarlah aku telah berjumpai recipe yg diingini!!

Pengertian Nafkah

Nafkah ialah penunaian belanja daripada harta seseorang untuk sesuatu yang baik, atau untuk dirinya dan untuk orang-orang yang di bawah tanggungannya seperti isteri atau anaknya. (An-Nawawi: Raudah At-Talibin 6/449 & Al-Mawardi: An-Nafakat 29)

Kewajipan nafkah itu telah ditentukan oleh Al-Qur’an sebagaimana firman Allah Subhanahu wa Ta‘ala yang tafsirnya:

i say, they (the club) has good intention but chose the wrong words and gave a controversial-arguable example. macamlah sex je ada dalam marriage tuh. duh.

1. Architects are rich.

Very irritating misconception. Hell, we are not. (I wish!) We are so far from being wealthy. We are light-years (10 trillion km or 10¹⁶ m or 6 trillion miles) away from the lawyers or doctors which we are often compared with. Architecture is not a “big business”, rather a small-scale professional service. Some architectural practices owners (1%) are doing relatively fine. As for the regular architects/drafters/technicians/renderers (99%) – those are actually low-income people. Salaries in the architectural industry are way below the average. It’s a sad fact not an emotional claim.

2. Architects build.

We don’t build projects. We design them. Think about us as of composer who invents music. And then orchestra plays it under conductor’s “management”. Developers build. If we would build we would be rich.

3. Architects are responsible for the structural safety.

No. If building collapses it’s rarely architect’s fault, just so you know… Architects’ role is to integrate building structure developed by the structural engineer into the general design scheme. Structural engineering is a professional field, essentially a science, responsible for the structural safety of the buildings. Continuing the analogy: composer is hardly responsible for the performance of his symphony, conductor and musicians are…

4. Architects are creative.

We kind of suppose to be. But in fact most of our time is dedicated to the resolution of the serious issues: financial (to get the money from the client), bureaucratic (to get the project approved by the authorities), technical (coordination of the engineering works and working drawings), administrative (monitoring constructions and fighting with the greedy builders), political (convincing clients not to pick the ugliest option because it’s cheap). We don’t have time for free imagination, arty design and other creative nonsense.

5. Architects are shy.

The most successful architects, we call them starchitects are aggressive as football players and loud as pop-stars. They try to attract media attention using all means, they go to fashion shows and they prefer to see themselves (not their projects) on the cover of the trendy magazines. (Starchitects are rich, by the way… They are not exactly architects though…)

6. Architects travel a lot.

Yes. Between the local city hall reception and the technical consultants office, usually located in some depressing industrial zone. We also visit messy construction sites on the other end of the city. Most of the American architects have been in Europe (Rome, Athens, Barcelona – speaking of architecture) much less than an average programmer. And it’s not only because of our low income. As I said we have more important issues on hand than this cultural BS.

7. Architects are naïve.

We cannot afford such luxury trying to survive between arrogant clients rebuffing our vision, corrupted bureaucrats rejecting our drawings and cheap builders refusing to build in line with our designs. We have to be shrewd businessmen. We just have to…

8. Architects draw, paint and do models.

Forget about it. Since the CAD (Computer Aided Design) systems were introduced in the 80s we have completely lost those unique gifts making us so outstanding, so different. We have lost things defining the very core of our field. So today we are just one of those “computerized industries”.

9. Architects wear funky glasses

Well… if you think that every Spaniard is an El-matador (a bull-fighter) or every Frenchman has 2 mistresses … then yeah… we all have funky glasses a-la Elton John.

10. Architects are cool and sexy.

The greatest misconception of all: at the very least we are super-cool & uber-sexy. I’m not kidding – ask my lady!

My dad is kinda tech savvy. He always get the latest gadgets 1st. I was unheard of galaxy tab when Ipad was raving mad, tapi dia insist nak beli time tuh (eventho aku dah racun gila beli Ipad) sebab secara practicalnya Ipad at that point of time takleh buat facetime lagi and takleh buat calls but Galaxy Tab can do that.

He always saying nak beli Mac stuffs but ended beli something Windows based. Like Obefiend said lah kan, actuallynya Macs nih dia nya processor dia agak lambat dari Windows/Android gadgets...kot? I dont know lah...(tapi when u go Mac, u;ll never go back! i know laa my husband uses macbook, n I'm loving it. see...I tuh..padahal my husband's. hahha)

Masa time kiteorg sekolah2 dulu, bapak aku selalu surprised us dgn bawak balik kotak handphones yg the latest. Skang bapak aku ada 3 handphones termasuk GTab. tapi aku rembat satu phone sbb HTC aku masok jamban (yeah tragic) hari tuh kan...mwahahha

On the PCs side...seperti biasa, latest jugak..yg penting ada, kurang pakai takpe. hahaha..harituh bapak aku cakap nak bukak facebook! hahh gelabah ko kiteorg adik beradik! dahtuh racun bapak aku jgn bukak fb, no point la ape la eceyh padahal taknak kegiatan diketahui. nasib baik tak bukak! (bapak aku ekceli kinda busy gak byk ngat meeting) aku pon skang malas sgt nak add my uncles n aunties. jadik ko cam takleh nak rambling kat fb tuh hahaha...

My mom? haaha...baru sekarang towwss reti gune sms function. other than that. adoyai...aku macam tech support guy gak la whenever comes to PC problems... camno nak buat tables la, formatting documents la..tapi tuh mula2 la..skang dah tak call aku dah...bagus kerajaan malaysia suh guru2 pakai notebook n key in marks pakai computers...kalau tak, aku rasa mak aku rela tanam pokok belakang umah dari kelebek ke komputer tuh...
